‘Songs My Mother Taught Me’ composed in 1880 by Antonin Dvorák with text by Adolf Heyduk (1835-1923).

I remember when Mother used to sing
She sang, as she taught me
Sometimes there glistened a tear in her eye
How strange that she often teared

Now when I teach my children
Each haunting melody
Now I find tears flowing down my cheeks
When they sing the songs my mother taught me
